[06-06-2022] Stanislaus County, CA - Two People Injured Following a Traffic Crash Involving a Suspected DUI Driver in ModestoAt least two people were hurt, including a police officer, after a traffic crash involving a suspected DUI driver in Modesto on Monday night, June 6, 2022.

The accident happened at approximately 7:42 p.m. at the intersection of Sick Road and Whitcomb Way.

The Modesto police officer was heading northbound on Sick Road when another driver failed to stop for a posted stop sign at the intersection. The driver then struck the police officer’s vehicle.

The officer sustained minor injuries in the mishap, while the second driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities suspect that the second driver may have been under the influence at the time of the accident.

Local authorities are further investigating the accident.
