[06-09-2022] San Diego County, CA – One Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Train Crash in Vista

According to the authorities, a pedestrian died after being struck by a westbound Sprinter train in Vista on Thursday, June 9, 2022.

According to a news release from San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Eikermann, the crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. on the tracks near the intersection of Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue.

Residents were advised to avoid the area for several hours while deputies investigated, according to a tweet from the agency.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the victim’s cause of death, according to Eikermann.

There are no other details available.

The crash remains under investigation.
