At least one person was hurt following a major head-on collision near Casitas Vista Road on Thursday afternoon, June 9, 2022.
The collision happened on Highway 33, just north of Casitas Vista Road, at approximately 5:51 a.m.
A car and a diesel truck were involved in the collision. The circumstances leading up to the crash have not been established.
Minor injuries were reported following the collision. At least one person was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by the Ventura County Fire Department.
The Environmental Health Division was also called to the scene because about 30 gallons of diesel had leaked onto the right shoulder. Local authorities are actively investigating the case.
