[06-09-2026] Riverside County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Alleged DUI Crash Involving Vehicle on Van Buren Blvd. at Porter Ave.

A 39-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an alleged DUI collision involving a vehicle in Riverside on Tuesday evening, June 9, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:40 p.m. on Van Buren Boulevard at Porter Avenue.

Authorities stated that Christopher T., riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was stopped at a red light on westbound Van Buren Boulevard when a 2017 Nissan Sentra, traveling at an unspecified speed, struck the rear of the motorcycle. The impact pushed the motorcycle into the intersection, where Tapia was thrown into a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Paramedics pronounced the rider dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, whose identity has not been released, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
