[06-11-2026] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in Clovis

A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Clovis on Thursday night, June 11, 2026, and the driver was subsequently arrested.

According to the Clovis Police Department, officers responded shortly to the incident after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Brookhaven Drive.

Authorities reported that the driver, identified as 45-year-old Francis P. of Clovis, fled the scene in a Toyota Camry while officers were attempting life-saving measures on the adult male pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and remained in critical condition Friday morning. The driver was stopped and arrested a short distance away.

The driver was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI, felony hit-and-run, evading officers, and possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
