A 20-year-old man was killed after being struck by a car in Fresno County on Tuesday morning, June 13, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Central Avenue near Chestnut Avenue.
According to the report, two young men were crossing Central Avenue when a pickup truck approached, resulting in a collision.
Firefighters found the 20-year-old victim trapped beneath the car upon reaching the location. Despite their efforts to raise the vehicle and extricate him, it became evident that he had tragically passed away from his severe injuries.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
There is no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
