[06-14-2022] Riverside County, CA - 34-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on 215 FreewayA 34-year-old man identified as Kevin A. attempting to cross a freeway was struck and killed near Interstate 215 in Riverside on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 6:15 a.m. at the Alessandro on-ramp to southbound I-215.

Abric was walking along the right shoulder of the freeway when he attempted to cross the entrance ramp eastbound for unknown reasons, according to Officer Javier Navarro.

According to Navarro, the victim appeared directly in front of the driver of a Hyundai sedan running at around 40 mph as he entered the freeway from Alessandro.

According to a CHP spokesman, the driver attempted but failed to avoid a collision with the pedestrian.

The Hyundai’s right front collided with the pedestrian.

The uninjured driver came to a complete stop and dialed 911.

Within 10 minutes, paramedics from the Riverside Fire Department arrived at the scene and pronounced Abric dead on the spot.

Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
