A 27-year-old driver was killed following a big rig collision in Oakdale early Wednesday morning, June 14, 2023.
According to the Oakdale Police Department, the fatal collision occurred around 1:00 a.m. at the Yosemite Avenue cannery in a ConAgra Foods plant.
The big rig driver, Ismael C.G., was delivering pallets of empty cans inside the trailer when a forklift driver alerted him to get out of the moving big rig. He got out safely but tripped and fell while trying to stop the big rig.
Carillo-Garcia got run over by the big rig and died at the scene. Reports say that no one else was injured or killed.
There has been no response from ConAgra, but the police have notified Cal/OSHA about the tragedy.
