According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a 30-year-old pedestrian man was transported to the hospital with major trauma after a vehicle struck him on 101 in Santa Maria Friday, June 24, 2022.
According to Santa Barbara County Fire spokesman Scott Safechuck, the collision occurred just before 4:00 p.m., northbound on Highway 101 just south of Santa Maria Way.
A county air support unit was called in to assist, but the man was transported by ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center.
The status of the man or cause of the accident is unknown.
The crash is still under investigation.
