Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics

Accidents in cars can have far-reaching effects. Many people are unaware of how dangerous and easily they can cause serious injuries because car accidents are frequent.

The number of fatal car accidents involving drivers and passengers in America is alarmingly high. The US Department of Transportation’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) estimates that 36,560 people were hurt, and 33,654 died in automobile accidents in 2018.

Multiple-vehicle accidents are shockingly uncommon in terms of the number of people killed or hurt and the amount of property lost.

When three or more vehicles are involved in a collision, it is referred to as a multi-vehicle crash. The most frequent cause is a chain-reaction crash. Because so many people are involved, situations like this are challenging to control.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that multi-vehicle collisions are to blame for one out of every four traffic fatalities. According to estimates, 13,000 people per year pass away in accidents.

In multi-vehicle accidents, legal disputes over fault are frequent. If you lose a court case, you might lose the right to receive compensation for your injuries. This is why you must have a knowledgeable automobile accident attorney on your side.

Apply the brakes slowly and steer toward something soft, like a bush or a railing, rather than another vehicle if you are in a multi-vehicle collision. Keep an eye out for anyone who might be stumbling around after an accident.
