[06-28-2022] Merced County, CA - One Killed, Multiple People Hospitalized After Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash in MercedAccording to the California Highway Patrol, one person is dead and several injured in a fiery two-vehicle collision in Merced on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

Officers say it happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Vincent Road just north of Harding Road, north of Delhi.

According to police, a Chevy Malibu with a man and three teenagers inside swerved to the left to avoid an Infinity SUV with two people inside that first veered to the right shoulder.

Officers were able to put out the flames after the Chevy caught fire quickly.

The Chevy’s driver was trapped inside and passed away there and then.

According to police, a woman and four teenagers who suffered serious injuries were airlifted to the hospital.

Investigations into the crash’s cause are ongoing.
