[07-02-2022] Los Angeles County, CA - Child Pedestrian Struck and Killed by a Vehicle on Golden State Freeway in Santa Clarita AreaAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a child was hit and run over by different vehicles on the Golden State (5) Freeway in the Santa Clarita area Saturday, July 2, 2022.

The deadly crash occurred at about 3:40 a.m. on the northbound Golden State Freeway at Weldon Canyon Road, the CHP said.

The CHP said a motorist called the CHP to report they struck an unknown stationary object blocking the roadway.

Officials said that the object was a child who had been struck by several vehicles and died at the scene.

No information was available regarding the specific vehicle involved in the incident or how the child ended up on the freeway.
