[07-03-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Semi Truck Catches Fire Injuring One After Two-Vehicle Crash on Main Street in HesperiaAccording to the authorities, one person was injured after a semi caught fire after crashing with a car and knocking out a high-pressure water valve on Main Street in Hesperia Sunday, July 3, 2022.

The collision occurred at about 8:48 a.m. at Main Street and Mesa Linda Avenue intersection, in front of the Tractor Supply store.

According to witnesses, the sedan attempted to make a left turn from Main Street onto Mesa Linda with a green light. Before squeezing through the light and hitting the car, the semi sounded its horn.

The semi-truck knocked a fire hydrant and a high-pressure water valve along the sidewalk’s edge as it continued to travel for several hundred feet after the collision.

Before finally coming to a stop in front of the Beyond gas station and catching fire, the semi’s debris was all over the east side of the road.

Before the valves were shut off, water from the burst lines continuously sprayed an undetermined amount of water into the road for about an hour.

San Bernardino County Fire assisted the male sedan driver in exiting the vehicle. He had minor injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The Hesperia Police Department is still looking into the accident’s actual cause.
