[07-08-2023] 37-Year-Old Gardener Severely Injured After Firework Incident in TorranceA 37-year-old gardener was severely injured after a firework incident in Torrance on Saturday, July 08, 2023.

According to reports, the incident happened around the afternoon on 173rd Street.

The gardener, Hector M., was about to finish his work when he picked up an unlit firework that immediately blew up.

Mayoral sustained injuries to his face and hands, which caused him to lose his whole left hand, vision in his right eye, and three of his teeth.

One of the neighbors’ doorbell cameras captured the incident, but it is still unclear who was responsible for leaving the unlit firework.

Mayoral’s family and the neighbors are currently setting up a GoFundMe account for the victim to help him with his expensive medical bills.
