[07-10-2023] Two Men Injured After DUI Solo-Vehicle Rollover Crash Near Loon LakeTwo men were injured, one sustaining serious head injuries following a DUI solo-vehicle rollover crash near Loon Lake in El Dorado County on Monday afternoon, July 10, 2023.

According to California Highway Patrol information officer Andrew B., the incident occurred on Ice House Road around 4:29 p.m.

A Can-Am Maverick off-road, side-by-side vehicle was reported to have rolled over 50 feet off the roadway. The driver of the vehicle, Brandon P., was suspected of driving under the influence and was arrested for DUI causing injury.

Georgetown Fire Department volunteers arrived quickly at the scene and rendered aid to the victims. Oscar V. sustained serious head injuries and was transported via CALSTAR air ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno.

Off-highway vehicles such as side-by-sides are not permitted on Ice House Road, and DUI is “always prohibited everywhere.” said CHP officer Brown.
