A devastating head-on collision resulted in the death of a woman and caused injuries to a man that occurred in Madera County on Monday morning, July 10, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Ellis Road, close to Fairview Street in Madera Acres.
The report said the man was driving his pickup truck in the wrong direction on the westbound lane, colliding head-on with the car driven by the woman.
Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the accident site while the man was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition.
It remains uncertain whether drugs or alcohol played a role in causing the crash.
The identities of the individuals involved in the collision remain undisclosed.
