A pedestrian was injured after being struck by an Amtrak train near Davis on Tuesday morning, July 11, 2023.
The local authorities responded to the accident near 840 2nd Street at about 10:35 a.m.
An Amtrak train traveling from San Jose to Sacramento struck the pedestrian just 10 miles west of its destination. As of yet, there is no information about the pedestrian’s identity or condition.
On the other hand, there were no reports of incidents among the train’s 67 passengers and crew. Initially, the train was stopped but has since resumed operations.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing, and Amtrak continues cooperating with law enforcement officials.
