According to the police, a bicyclist died after being hit by a car in Visalia Tuesday morning, July 12, 2022.
Officers say the crash transpired shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Highway 198 near Ben Maddox Way.
A Kia Optima came up behind the cyclist and gave him a hit from behind. After the accident, the Kia was no longer able to be driven.
Shortly after the collision, the officer on the scene pronounced the cyclist riding it dead.
His identity has not been made public at this time.
The person who was driving the Kia stayed at the scene after the accident.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
