According to California Highway Patrol, a two-vehicle collision followed by another big rig crash injured one on an under-construction section of Highway 99 Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
According to the CHP, the collision occurred at about 2:20 p.m. along northbound Highway 99 just north of V Street.
The first collision happened when Samantha P., 44, of Fresno, driving a 2019 Kenworth big rig northbound in the No. 2 lane, hit the back of a camper towed by a GMC Yukon.
According to the authorities, the GMC’s driver, Jesse M., 57, of San Jose, slowed down because of oncoming traffic.
A minute or so later, Arturo M., 55, of Madera, was operating a 2013 Freightliner as it approached the collision. According to Zuniga, Macias did not notice the slowed traffic up ahead when they collided on the road.
Despite Macias’ efforts to avoid a collision, the Freightliner struck the rear of the Kenworth, left the road, and traveled down an embankment before coming to rest close to a car dealership, according to the CHP.
After collisions, Poulsen complained of pain and was taken to Mercy Medical Center.
According to the CHP, neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Accidents in cars can have far-reaching effects. Many people are unaware of how dangerous and easily they can cause serious injuries because car accidents are frequent.
The number of fatal car accidents involving drivers and passengers in America is alarmingly high. The US Department of Transportation’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) estimates that 36,560 people were hurt and 33,654 died in vehicular accidents in 2018.
Multiple-vehicle accidents are shockingly uncommon regarding the number of people killed or hurt and the amount of property lost.
When three or more vehicles are involved in a collision, it is referred to as a multi-vehicle crash. The most frequent cause is a chain-reaction crash. Because so many people are involved, such situations are challenging to control.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that multi-vehicle collisions are to blame for one out of every four traffic fatalities. According to estimates, 13,000 people per year pass away in accidents.
In multi-vehicle accidents, legal disputes over faults are frequent. If you lose a court case, you might lose the right to receive compensation for your injuries. This is why you must have a knowledgeable vehicular accident lawyer on your side.
Apply the brakes slowly and steer toward something soft, like a bush or a railing, rather than another vehicle if you are in a multi-vehicle collision. Keep an eye out for anyone who might be stumbling around after an accident.
