According to the Fresno Police Department, a Fresno Fire engine was involved in a two-vehicle traffic collision injuring one person in northeast Fresno Wednesday afternoon, July 14, 2022.
The collision transpired at 2:30 p.m. when the fire engine responded to a medical call from Cedar and Gettysburg avenues.
According to Jonathan Lopez, a spokesman for Fresno Fire, the engine was moving west on Gettysburg with its lights and sirens activated.
The vehicle was struck on its driver’s side by the engine as it stopped to make sure Cedar traffic was stopped for them before crossing the intersection.
With non-life threatening wounds, the car’s driver was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. The three firefighters inside the engine escaped without harm.
The car’s front and driver’s side were severely damaged, compared to the fire engine’s minimal damage.
The collision is being looked into by the Fresno Police Department.
