[07-14-2023] Butte County, CA – Two People Injured After Pack of Pit Bulls Attack in Chico

Two people were injured after a pack of pit bulls attacked them in Chico on Friday morning, July 14, 2023.

According to the Chico Police Department, the incident happened around 8:00 a.m. near Cohasset Road and Eaton Road.

A male bicyclist was riding along a bike path when a pack of eight pit bulls attacked him. A female driver passed by and tried to help the man when the dogs attacked her as well.

The man suffered hand and leg injuries, while the woman suffered minor injuries.

The authorities located the dogs inside a transient camp and detained them at the Chico Animal Shelter for a vaccine investigation.

The dogs’ owner was identified, but reports say he was not present at the time of the incident.
