[07-14-2024] Ventura County, CA – Two Injured After Motorcycle Collides with Tractor-Trailer in Oxnard

Two people were injured in a collision with a tractor-trailer in Oxnard on Sunday night, July 14, 2024.

The Oxnard Police Department responded to the crash at 7:11 p.m. at the intersection of South Rose and Mountain View avenues, where officers found the two motorcyclists in the roadway. Both individuals were transported to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.

Authorities said the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was headed eastbound on Mountain Avenue, had stopped at Rose Avenue and entered the intersection to make a left turn. The motorcyclist, traveling southbound on Rose Avenue, attempted to veer left to avoid the truck but struck its front driver’s side.

The collision ejected both individuals from the motorcycle. Investigators indicated that speed may have been a factor in the crash, though they do not believe the motorcyclists were impaired.

The tractor-trailer driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The investigation is ongoing.
