According to the California Highway Patrol officials, a Roseville man suspected of drunk driving was killed in a head-on crash near Antelope Friday night, July 15, 2022.
The crash occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. south of Walerga Road near Town Center Avenue.
According to the CHP’s Auburn office, a white 1999 Chevrolet Corvette was heading south of Walerga Road when it traveled over a center divider and into oncoming northbound traffic.
According to a CHP news release, the Corvette collided with a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, causing the front end of the Malibu to crash into the passenger side of the Corvette.
According to CHP officials, the Corvette’s 68-year-old Roseville man driver was fatally injured when he was thrown from the car. He didn’t have his seat belt on.
According to the CHP, the Malibu’s 31-year-old Roseville driver was taken to the hospital with minor wounds. According to the accident report, he was buckled up.
The Placer County Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased driver after notifying the driver’s family. According to the CHP’s initial investigation, he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
