Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Statistics
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car accidents are Americans’ most common cause of serious injury. Every year, more than 2 million individuals are hurt in car accidents.
More than a thousand people are killed each year in California when they are involved in an accident while behind the wheel. Thousands of people have been injured. According to a new report, as many as 30 individuals were injured in car accidents every hour in the state in 2015.
Any time one of the vehicles involved in an accident leaves the roadway, it can cause a rollover. Major injuries and even death are common outcomes of rollover collisions.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 3% of all car accidents involve a rollover. A rollover or tip-over accident accounts for around 35 percent of passenger vehicle fatalities.
The most effective protective measures are airbags and seat belts. Slowing down will reduce the impact’s force. According to 2014 data, 66% of all rollover deaths resulted from people not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
To brace yourself from a rollover, professionals suggest that drivers remove their feet from the pedals to avoid breaking their ankles and to release the steering wheel while crossing their arms on their chest. This way, you can brace yourself for the impact and protect yourself better.
