[07-19-2023] Fresno County, CA – 16-Year-Old Male Sustained Minor Injuries After Two-Vehicle Collision with Police on Belmont Avenue

A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision involving a police vehicle in Fresno on Wednesday evening, July 19, 2023.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident occurred on Belmont Avenue and Blackstone Avenue at around 9:00 p.m.

The officers were traveling westbound on Belmont through Blackstone when they struck the victim’s vehicle. The officers were reportedly responding to a call of an overdose on Fulton Street prior to the collision.

The citizen’s vehicle was occupied by a father and a son. The 16-year-old victim complained of pain which the officers reported was non-life-threatening.

No information was released regarding the identities of the father and son, who was at fault, or if there were more injuries, pending an investigation.
