Authorities reported that a motorcyclist was killed in a car crash on Wednesday morning, July 20, 2022.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), the motorcycle rider was identified as Richard Lewis of Auberry.
Richard Lewis was riding a 2001 Harley-Davidson west on Highway 168 east of the Prather roundabout when he was killed at about 7:30 a.m.
The CHP also reported that a Toyota 4-Runner and a 2003 Chevrolet Express were traveling east when the Toyota driver, a 43-year-old Auberry woman, turned left across the other lane. The Chevy, driven by a 67-year-old Clovis man, collided with the motorcyclist.
Officers are still investigating why the motorcycle struck the back of the Toyota, throwing Lewis into the road.
