[07-21-2022] San Diego County, CA-Woman Walking Dog Fatally Hit by Car in North ParkAccording to the San Diego Police Department, a 25-year-old woman walking her dog suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a BMW on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

The police reported that they were called to the 4400 block of Illinois Street, San Diego.

Police Officer Robert Heims said that the woman was walking her dog eastbound on Illinois Street when her dog pulled her into the street, and she was struck by a 2003 BMW Z4 driven southbound by a 61-year-old man.

A brain bleed, a fractured left tibia and fibula, and various cuts and bruises were among the serious injuries sustained by the pedestrian. Heims stated that her injuries are potentially fatal.

The department’s Traffic Division is investigating the collision.
