[07-22-2023] Orange County, CA – High-Speed Collision with Cement Truck Leaves One Man Dead and One Woman Critically Injured in Santa Ana

A male driver was killed while his female passenger was critically injured after a high-speed collision between a cement truck and a vehicle in Santa Ana on Friday morning, July 22, 2022.

The Santa Ana Police Department responded to the accident at 2400 East of 17th Street by 8:00 a.m.

At a high rate of speed, the sedan exited State Route 55 (Costa Mesa Freeway) onto 17th Street and struck the truck stopped in the left turn lane.

The sedan driver was killed, and his passenger sustained critical injuries and was sent to a local hospital. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

The identities of the people involved in the accident have not been disclosed. Authorities are still determining whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash as their investigations continue.
