[07-22-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – Multiple Injuries Reported as DUI Driver Caused Five-Vehicle Collision in Rialto

Multiple individuals sustained injuries when a driver under the influence caused a multi-vehicle crash in Rialto on July 22, 2023.

According to Rialto Police Department, the incident involving five vehicles occurred in the 1500 block of Riverside Avenue.

Denis C., 29, from San Bernardino, was driving northbound on Riverside when she approached Walnut Avenue at high speed and allegedly sideswiped another vehicle. This then caused the victim’s vehicle to collide with other vehicles.

Emergency personnel immediately aided the individuals injured due to the collision and transferred several drivers and passengers to local hospitals. The number of people injured and the severity of their injuries remain unclear.

Afterward, Denis was arrested and taken to the West Valley Detention Center on charges of DUI alcohol.

Further investigation is ongoing if there were also drugs involved in the incident.
