[07-23-2023] One Man Died, His Male Passenger Injured After Solo-Vehicle Crash in Boulder CreekA 34-year-old man was killed, while his 31-year-old passenger sustained major injuries following a solo-vehicle crash in Boulder Creek on Sunday afternoon, July 23, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred on Highway 9, south of Spring Creek Road, at around 5:00 p.m.

According to CHP, Steven T., a Boulder Creek resident, crashed into a tree and overturned while traveling southbound on the highway in his red 2003 Toyota Tundra. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Taggert and his passenger, Steven F., also a Boulder Creek resident, sustained major injuries and were rushed to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, Taggert did not survive.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol was a contributing factor in this incident.
