[07-24-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Pedestrian Man Dies After DUI Collision on Interstate 10According to the California Highway Patrol, a man walking on the sidewalk was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a suspected DUI driver on Interstate 10 Freeway in Fontana on July 24, 2022.

According to CHP, the crash occurred at about 11:49 p.m. on I-10 westbound, east of Sierra Avenue.

Initial reports indicated that a 2008 Buick was moving at an unknown speed.

Due to a previous solo vehicle crash on I-10 westbound at Sierra, the car struck an unidentified pedestrian who was crossing lanes.

The second collision caused the pedestrian to lose consciousness and be declared dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

A third vehicle then struck the first two vehicles in a chain reaction.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner’s Division identified the deceased as Adrian N., a 25-year-old Pomona resident.

The Buick’s driver was detained on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
