[07-24-2023] Bakersfield 99 Cents Only Store Without Air Conditioning Caused Employee To Suffer From Heat ExhaustionA 99 Cents Only Store employee experienced heat exhaustion after four months of no air conditioning inside the store in Bakersfield on Monday, July 24, 2023.

According to the Kern County Fire Department report, the incident occurred on Olive Drive.

An employee, whose identity was not immediately available, suffered heat exhaustion after the air conditioning stopped working, leaving the store without cooling for almost four months.

The Fire Department then immediately aided the employee as they arrived at the scene. The extent of the employee’s injuries remained unknown at this time.

The store did not provide any response regarding the incident at this point.

Further investigation continues.
