According to the California Highway Patrol, two people were killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash south of Wasco Tuesday night, July 26, 2022.
The CHP Buttonwillow confirmed that the collision occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Magnolia Avenue and Kimberlina Road.
The Wasco man was traveling north on Magnolia Avenue, which had a stop sign, in a Honda Accord. A Toyota RAV4 was also traveling west on Kimberlina Road at the same time, driven by an unidentified individual.
The second person does not know anything about the Wasco man, and his identity has not yet been revealed.
According to an early CHP investigation, the driver of the Honda failed to stop at the stop sign on Magnolia Avenue before driving into the intersection and into the path of the RAV4, which resulted in a broadside collision.
According to CHP, the front right passenger of the Honda was ejected and died at the scene. A Hall ambulance took the driver of the RAV4 to Kern Medical.
The crash is still under investigation.
