[07-26-2022] Placer County, CA – Kings Beach Man Driving Golf Cart Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Tahoe City

According to the authorities, a golf cart operator from Kings Beach sustained fatal injuries in a two-vehicle collision on State Route 28 in Tahoe City Tuesday morning, July 26, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at 6:23 a.m. westbound of SR-28, west of Grove Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a golf cart with a white utility bed belonged to the Tahoe City Downtown Association and was struck by a Tahoe City man driving a 2018 Honda.

According to CHP, a man in his 50s was operating the golf cart. He has not yet been identified pending notification of his next of kin.

According to the CHP report, the Honda driver failed to recognize that the golf cart was in the lane directly in front of him as he approached it at an unknown speed.

According to CHP, the Honda’s front end hit the back of the golf cart because the driver was unable to stop or slow down in time to avoid the collision.

Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
