A 57-year-old father of 6 was killed following a two-vehicle head-on collision caused by a wrong-way DUI driver in San Diego on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
According to the report, the incident occurred on the southbound lanes of Interstate 805 near Camino De La Plaza.
Abel G. of La Puente was on his way to visit his mother and pick up his daughter for a weekend trip when he was struck by an Audi sedan driving on the wrong side of the road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fernando G., the 29-year-old Audi driver, was believed to be under the influence at the time of the collision.
In an emotional statement, Abel’s son expressed anger and frustration at the situation. He said, “When I heard that it was due to negligence like that, I was angry, angry, and rage.”
Abel’s family is now seeking justice and hopes the alleged drunk driver will be punished to the fullest extent possible.
