Bicycles are a common form of transportation in California. Regarding preventing collisions, cyclists must adhere to the same regulations as drivers of motor vehicles. It is mandatory to always abide by the traffic laws, such as stopping at red lights and staying in one lane.
Unfortunately, compared to other states, California does not support cyclists as much. California has some of the most hazardous riding conditions nationwide for cyclists.

In California, bicycle riders are frequently involved in motor vehicle collisions. If the driver had given way, looked for bikes before pulling out, or was otherwise distracted while driving, many collisions might have been prevented.
