[07-29-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – 1 Man Killed, 4 Others Injured Following Suspected DUI Two-Vehicle Collision in Lancaster

A male passenger died, while four others were injured after a suspected DUI two-vehicle collision in Lancaster on Saturday evening, July 29, 2023.

According to Lancaster Sheriff’s Station Det. Jacob M., the incident occurred at the intersection of Avenue L and 20th Street East at around 11:15 p.m.

A man was driving his Lexus northbound on 20th and did not stop at the red traffic signal at Avenue L. As it crossed the intersection, it collided with a Ford traveling westbound on Avenue L.

The Ford’s rear passenger sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. A male juvenile survived the ordeal and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Two more people were critically injured, while another person suffered minor injuries.

The Lexus driver was suspected of driving under the influence. Speed was also believed to be a factor in this incident.

No information was released regarding the identities of those involved or which of the two vehicles the other injured parties occupied.
