[07-30-2022] Contra Costa County, CA – One Pedestrian Killed, Another Seriously Injured in a DUI accident in Walnut Creek

One pedestrian died while another suffered serious injuries in a DUI accident in Walnut Creek on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

The crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. along North Main Street and Lawrence Way.

According to a Walnut Creek Police Department tweet, officers responded to an early-morning accident in Walnut Creek involving a 28-year-old woman driving a pickup truck that struck two people.

According to the police, the driver was drunk.

The female driver was arrested in connection with the accident. She was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing injury.

The driver was taken to a hospital for her injuries before being lodged in the Martinez Detention Facility.
