According to Rosenberg and Goff, the alleged street racer went around 100 miles per hour and clipped their rental car. They landed upside-down on Auburn Boulevard near Howe Avenue, their doors jammed against the concrete.

They narrated that a passerby helped them break the window while the emergency response exacerbated their mental anguish because it took 20 minutes to get to them.

The couple, raising funds for the LGBT Center at the California State Fair, said they could not work because they were afraid to get behind the wheel. They are hoping that the driver will be held accountable and that people who have been through similar traumatic events will receive better care.
