A 66-year-old man was killed after being struck by a suspected DUI driver in Santa Ana on Wednesday night, July 30, 2025.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the collision occurred around 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Bristol Street and Segerstrom Avenue.
Officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded to the scene and located the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries.
The victim, identified as John L. of Santa Ana, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died despite life-saving efforts.
Witnesses reported that John was seen walking in the traffic lanes when he was struck. The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with authorities, and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
