The 31-year-old Erik V., a resident of Burbank, was a victim of a fatal vehicle collision in Palm Springs Saturday evening.
The accident occurred at around 9 p.m. at the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive on Sunrise Way.
According to the investigators, the vehicle’s driver died on the scene and took one of its passengers with severe injuries to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the person involved, Kevin A., 57, of Los Angeles, drives a vehicle that had stopped the rear-ended car at the intersection.
Atteberry was also injured severely and taken to the hospital.
There were no other reported injuries, but according to the authorities, the collision set off a chain reaction that involved two other vehicles that also stopped at the intersection.
According to the authorities, Atteberry will be arrested and booked on suspicion of murder after leaving the hospital because of a prior DUI conviction.
