According to the Sacramento Police Department, a three-vehicle collision involving four people occurred just before 5:00 p.m. between Northgate Boulevard and Sotano Drive.

According to authorities, four people were sent to a hospital. Among them was a deceased woman. The three remaining victims suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains unknown.

The nearby roadways where the accident occurred were blocked for almost four hours before reopening.
