A 32-year-old woman suffered severe injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Liberty Station Tuesday evening.
The collision occurred just before 11:30 p.m. in the Roseville/Fleetridge neighborhood at the junction of Harbor Drive and Nimitz Boulevard.
According to the local authorities, the woman was driving at high speed westbound on Harbor Drive when she turned left onto eastbound Harbor Drive from a southbound SUV.
According to the police, someone failed to stop at the red traffic light and struck the SUV head-on with the vehicle.
The female driver, who did not buckle up, fractured her right ankle and sustained head injuries. She took her to the UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment and a DUI investigation.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old male driver of the SUV was not hurt.
Officers from the SDPD Traffic Division are looking into the collision to determine who was at fault.
