[08-02-2023] Fresno County, CA – One Person Died, Two with Minor Injuries Following Suspected DUI Crash in Clovis and American Avenues

One person died, and two sustained minor injuries after a suspected DUI crash in Fresno County on Wednesday evening, August 02, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. in Clovis and American Avenues.

Officers said that a Honda car had rear-ended a box truck. The Honda was believed to be going at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Honda was taken to the Community Regional Center with significant injuries, while the female passenger died at the site. The box truck driver had minor injuries, but its occupants were unharmed.

The driver of the Honda faces charges including felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
