[08-03-2022] San Bernardino County, CA- Mother, 8-Year-Old Daughter, and Family Dog Killed in Suspected DUI Crash in RialtoAccording to the police, a mother, her 8-year-old daughter, and their dog were all killed after a suspected DUI driver struck them on Wednesday, August 03, 2022.

Ashley G., 33-year-old, and 8-year-old daughter Marlee M., along with their dog Phoebe, were returning to Highland on Monday evening around 6:30 p.m. after spending the day with Gilroy’s oldest sister, who still lives in their childhood home in Rialto.

According to police, Ashley and Marlee were waiting to turn at Valley and Riverside when a Jeep traveling at 80 to 100 mph plowed into them, causing an explosion.

The ball of fire was so powerful that good Samaritans could not save anyone.

According to investigators, the Jeep driver, Paul L., 35, died at the scene.
He is said to have hit other vehicles just before hitting Gilroy’s car.

Officers discovered beer cans in the Jeep, implying that the driver had been drinking.
