A 70-year-old motorcyclist was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Chico on Thursday afternoon, August 3, 2023.
The Chico Police Department responded to the 3rd and Mangrove Avenue accident around 1:10 p.m.
In the northbound lane of Mangrove, a 70-year-old male was riding a motorcycle while a female in her 80s was in her vehicle driving southbound. As both had green lights, the driver attempted to make a left turn without yielding and turned left in front of the motorcyclist, striking him.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where he was reported to be in stable condition after sustaining major injuries.
There were no additional details regarding the identities of the people involved.
Authorities are still conducting their investigation.
