[08-04-2022] Alameda County, CA - Unidentified Pedestrian Man Walking on Freeway Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in OaklandAccording to the authorities, a pedestrian man walking was killed when he was hit by a vehicle on Interstate 880 in East Oakland late Tuesday night, August 4, 2022.

The fatal collision transpired at about 11:12 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-880 south of Hegenberger Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was struck by a car while he was walking on the highway. It has not yet been revealed who the man is.

The authorities have not yet disclosed the reason they think the man was on the road. The man’s identity has not yet been made public.

The car’s driver sustained minor wounds, but it is not immediately clear whether he was taken to the hospital.

The driver was cooperating with investigators, according to the CHP. The CHP states that there are no signs the driver was intoxicated by alcohol or drugs.
