Multi-Vehicle Collision Statistics
A multi-vehicle collision is a vehicle accident that involves more than one vehicle. This vehicle collision is also known as a “pile-up,” especially involving six or more vehicles.
These collisions frequently occur on roads where hundreds of cars travel at high speeds adjacent to each other. This makes it difficult for many drivers approaching an accident to stop at a safe distance, perhaps causing them to collide with other vehicles.
According to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) study, over 13,000 people were killed in multi-vehicle incidents involving passenger automobiles, accounting for more than 40% of all motor vehicle accidents yearly.
Car accidents are prevalent in Los Angeles. Certain areas, however, are more affected than others. You can reduce your chances of being involved in a horrible accident if you exercise caution around these major intersections.
