The unknown pedestrian was killed after being struck by a white GMC Yukon in Stanton on Friday evening, August 4, 2023.
According to the local authorities, the collision occurred at approximately 11:52 p.m. near Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard.
When first responders arrived, they located a pedestrian down the roadway with major injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
Medics attempted to provide medical care to the downed pedestrian but ultimately pronounced them deceased on the scene. The identity of the victim remains unknown.
The driver of the Yukon remained on the scene and appeared to be cooperating with law enforcement.
The investigation is ongoing.
