[08-06-2023] 40-Year-Old Driver Killed After Collision with DUI Driver in Van NuysA 40-year-old driver was killed, and two people were severely injured after a wrong-way driver struck another vehicle in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, on Sunday evening, August 6, 2023.

The Los Angeles Police Department said the collision occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Victory Boulevard, east of Columbus Avenue.

According to the report., the driver, allegedly intoxicated, was traveling east on Victory when he veered into the opposing lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the second vehicle.

Tragically, the second vehicle’s driver lost their life at the accident scene. At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed.

The first vehicle’s driver was believed to be in his 30s, and his passenger was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. The passenger, identified as a woman, sustained moderate injuries, which included a possible broken leg.

As a consequence of the apparent impairment, the first vehicle’s driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
